This Traffic Light sensory play tray can be used in a number of different ways to support educational play. It can be used to support imaginative play and storytelling.
The tray can be used to aid colour recognition, the tokens can be added on top of the lights to create your very own memory game i.e. ‘Where is ‘go’?’ ‘What colour is ‘go’?’. There is the added phonic element to these tokens, ‘go’ being a key word to recognise by sight within reception, and ‘stop’ and ‘wait’ being decadable words your little one can sound out. The tray can be used to aid fine motor development and is ideal for learning through play at home or within an educational setting.

PLA? What is it?

PLA stands for Polylactic Acid. It is a polymer that is derived from plants and while it is marketed as eco-friendly it is still a plastic but it is a better option than oil derived plastics. Additionally, PLA is biodegradable but only under certain conditions. It will not degrade in typical compost heaps and as such it is advised to not discard your used PLA items this way. Please contact your local authority to discuss if they have PLA recycling or compost options available.
